I am proud to call myself a Toastmaster. Yes, with a capital ‘T’.
Having joined the Toastmasters organization as a member of City Speech Toastmasters, a club in the East Bay of San Francisco, in 2014, I never looked back. As a club officer continuously since 2015, I appreciate how the organization contributes to the personal growth of anyone who takes it seriously. Growth in communication as well as leadership skills–the combination that elevates every single person who practices the craft diligently.
In this section of the site, I will collect all information close to my heart that has to do with Toastmasters. This can be my own writings or just collections of important information that would be a good pool of resources for ready access.
My Toastmasters Journey
Oct 2014: Joined City Speech Toastmasters as a member. For the first 9 months, until June 2015, I was a POT (Plain Old Toastmaster), not holding any leadership role. Never since.
Let me recount the ways I have served in leadership roles. All of these are club leadership positions at City Speech, except where noted.
July 2015-June 2016: VP Public Relations
July 2016-June 2017: VP Education
July 2017-June 2018: Secretary, Sergeant-at-Arms. Area I-33 Director (District 57 Office)
July 2018-June 2019: President, Treasurer
July 2019-June 2020: Treasurer
July 2020-June 2021: Treasurer
July 2021-June 2022: Secretary
July 2022-June 2023: Secretary. Division I Director (District 57 Office)
If any of these are Gobbledygook and you have no idea what I am talking about, just ask! I am happy to explain.
